Yeah. . .when the president receives lavish gifts they belong to the US, not him. . .the president can ask for waiver to keep if wanted or buy, too. The Messiah could have asked for waiver (like Bush when giving the jacket) when giving a decent gift to a head of state. Thing is, we can't control what they do with the gift once it is “over there,” so it really doesn't matter anyway.

The helo thing is interesting, though I am inclined to go with a helo the president (not The One) doesn't have to stoop over when he gets in. But that's just me..

Brown had the option to keep the Jacket, but only if he paid for it under British law, it was worth over the limit of what he could keep, 160 pounds, I jusr read that Brown is blind in one eye and partially blind in the other which makes the DVD collection almost as big a slight as this.
