Not sure, but executive branch gift-giving limits are pretty hard-over law.

I think it is somewhere around $25 max if given to an individual.

If it is a more expensive gift, I think the law allows that but the gift is given to the organization, not the person.

So, the gifts were to children, not organization (or “head of state”), therefore they are limited by the law.

Now, there are exemptions and waivers that could have been exercised but the amateurs in charge are dolts.

President Bush gave Brown an Official U.S, Navy Leather flight jacket Identical to what the Aircrew of Marine One wear complete with a name patch with his name on it as well as the Presidential seal.

The slap in the face goes even deeper than a couple of toys, Obama has plans to cancel the contract for the next Marine One that Britain is building (part of the reason President Bush gave Brown a Marine One leather flying jacket)Obama is throwing in his face through his children that he won’t be flying The one Britain was supposed to build at $400 million dollars a copy for 23 helicopters.
