State’s righter’s like me want this battle fought on all fronts

Then yours is hardly the normal "state's righter's" argument.

One becomes tired of the incessant bleating about the right of states to determine this issue- A right never given to them in any sense whatsoever.

I am a State’s righter because I believe it brings the fastest change to start saving babies and it will also give us a guidepost when we know when to pull the trigger on a national Constitutional amendment.

However well intentioned, I believe that 30 years of history are quite telling against your position. Furthermore, what man giveth, man taketh away- Even if you do get your state victory, all it will take is one federal jurist to overturn that work with another newer edict, regardless of how many states you might get to follow your lead.

And finally, relegating any of the enumerated unalienable rights to the mere authority of man, not to mention the states, endangers them all- And while Life is undoubtedly the most significant, folks might assume that one might have passed them by, as they have successfully made it beyond the womb. But it will not stop there. If those unalienable rights are merely declared by old men, then any old man can come and take them ALL away.

When do you ever see someone from the Air Force saying that a Marine fighting on the ground is actually working for the enemy because he isn’t flying also?

I will welcome my "state's rights" FRiends under the Pro-Life banner, and I will exchange friendly words with you here, and argue the finer points, as much as my patience will allow, but I will not allow deviation of the Pro-Life agenda. not one inch of variance. Nor will I stand by and see that agenda back away from goals which are set_in_stone. Our friendship *ends* when a candidate arrives sporting less than the full-fledged dyed-in-the-wool Pro-Life platform, and attempts to don the Pro-Life mantle.

As a Social Conservative, as a Reaganite, and as a true defender of the Constitution, I will rise up with all four feet against such a candidate, to include Sarah Palin.

And I will serve you this warning, too. I will predict that if Sarah Palin runs, it will be the Christians that hand her defeat, more than any other faction.

Do *not* mess with Life.

Do you really think that's what the end goal is?

The inalienable rights within the Constitution cannot be infringed by either the states or the federal government.

Our problem is that a majority of the people today do not see abortion as an issue regarding the inalienable right to life of the unborn person. Until they do, we're not getting anywhere. Sending the issue back to the states opens everything up for debate, and we can start from there. It would have the positive side effect of, oh, saving more babies in less time.

Nothing will stop people from pushing even further after that, you know. If it comes to be commonly accepted that the unborn are persons from conception, then we're done. Mission accomplished. The Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments take over from there.

And I will serve you this warning, too. I will predict that if Sarah Palin runs, it will be the Christians that hand her defeat, more than any other faction.

Probably one of the bigger whoppers I've seen on this thread today. *chuckles*
