Here's my tip of the month: there is still a great pistol and ammo deal out there waiting for you.

Thanks! I'll look for one at the next gun show. I guess I need a 308 as well? Suggestions? Probably I will have to choose between the 308 and a Mossberg, unless the Money Fairy drops some more off.

Or would that be an advance on next month's tip?

I would buy a shotgun before buying a rifle. If you had to buy a .308 bolt action, a Savage is probably the best deal for the money. Or you could get a milsurp for less money, and milsurp ammo to go with it. Combining both, you can get the very fast and rugged Enfield rifle in .308, made by the Indian Ishapore arsenal. This was the final development of the Enfield before even the Indians went to semi-auto rifles in the 1950s. But Enfields in .303 are also fine, and there is plenty of ammo.
