You are right. If there were an election, even in Illinois, the GOP might win.
Plus, Burris has been in politics a long time in Illinois. He probably knows a few things about a few of his buddies that they don't want printed in the paper, not that it would make much of a difference. I am not sure that there is any offense that would embarrass a Rat or keep their Rat constituency from voting for them.

That’s the point. The GOP was indeed showing a similar type of “audacity and brazeness,” as a result, they got sh**canned in 06’ and ‘08.

What works for dems does not work for pubbies. If people have to choose between two varieties of “audacity and brazeness” they’ll go dem every time.

Expel him. He lied to get in (about pay-to-play, which was THE big reason he was challenged at all). One can only conclude that Democrats refuse to expel him because they fear being accused of racism or because they need his vote at the moment to overcome filibusters.
