I live down here is southern arizona. Hike quite a bit. I would love to have a look at one....at a distance of course.
Thirty or more years ago I read a book on tigers killing and eating people in India, don’t know if it was his. I’ve now got that on my ‘to read’ list, thanks.
Years ago I also read one about a tribe in Africa that lions were part of their culture or religion, can’t remember which. They hunted lions and the lions sometimes got them.
But you have a lot of extraordinary birds down there that won't potentially eat you:
elegant trogons, rose-throated becards, northern beardless tyrannulets, dusky-capped flycatchers, buff-breasted flycatchers, buff-collared nightjars, five-striped sparrows, and dozens of exotic hummingbirds, to name just a few specialties.
If you're not already a birder, you may want to consider becoming one. It doesn't get any better than southeast Arizona!
I have thought about it. I did get a book on birds in southern arizona. There are quite a few birders down here that is for sure.
Uh oh. Sounds like the seed has been planted. Now it's only a matter of time.
And once you become a birder, my tagline will make sense. :)
(My wife says that's the only time I make sense too...)
