If your Republican Senator voted against this, they need to hear from you. If you live in a state that went for McCain, but you have a Dem Senator that voted against this, they need to hear from you.
The Republicans that need to be scolded are:
- Alexander (R-TN)
- Bennett (R-UT)
- Bond (R-MO)
- Cochran (R-MS)
- Collins (R-ME)
- Murkowski (R-AK)
- Shelby (R-AL)
- Snowe (R-ME)
- Specter (R-PA)

IMO, Hatch and Bennett are using a tag-team approach to a lot of these issues. Hatch votes for one, then Bennett (especially on election years) that way they only take part of the grief for poor votes and can spin stuff by saying, "but I voted against the other bad bill".
I get the feeling from these guys that they are just playing a shell game.

Politicians are such scumbags. I hope the Republicans who voted for this get hauled over the coals by the citizens of their states.

That’s the vast majority of Republican Party politics in a nutshell.
Why should they want smaller government? They’re IN government.

All those Republicans listed needs to go. They’re either too socialist, or too power hungry and playing politics. Either way, we don’t want them around

It isn’t difficult to imagine how each of these politcians would fare were they running their own businesses and actually INCREASED spending while business was in a downturn.

Bond is worthless, since he is retiring after he finished his term. I am not surprised by his vote.

The Juan McCain Truth File. "I have great respect for Al Gore." Republican Commissars Warning: By joining this ping list, you may be subjected to the delusional rants and ramblings of McCainiacs, of "moderate" Republicans, of pragmatic conservatives resigned to voting for the lesser of two Democrats, and of countless GOP shills who simply want to meet a new overlord. |

Talk about derangement syndrome. You can’t just disagree with someone over an issue and then give credit when due. The man tries to do something worthy, and all you can do is stike the same cord.
I disagree with him on the border/illegal immigration and a few more, but this was an action that he should be commended for, not condemned for.
When he said that he had great respect for Al Gore, did you bother to find out what type of respect? Did he respect him as a former VP? I don’t have any respect for Gore, but I respect the office. You should find out how things work.
Oh, and don’t bother sending any nasty you’re-not-a conservative/real-American nonsense. You’d be wrong on all of it.

The main purpose was to extend the extension of last year’s budget. This would allow time for debate over the new godzilla budget.
But NOOOOOOOO, we wouldn’t want to give the public time to see what’s hidden in the new budget.

If any of the folks on the ping list have something to say about McCain's amendment, fine, whatever, but at least they know about this amendment.
Of course, you just assume that I'm deranged.
