I'm not writing off Steele just yet. He's right... Rush is NOT the "de facto leader of the Republican party... Steele is". I don't think Rush wants to be the de facto leader of the Republican party.

Rush could be called the de facto leader of the conservative movement, I suppose.

I watched and re-watched the video - particularly Steele's comments at 6:56 - I just don't see where he's directly referring to Rush's speech at CPAC as "incendiary" and "ugly". It's a bit unclear.

Oh come on. Don’t try to candycoat it. Of course Steele was not referring to his CPAC speech. It’s worse than that. Steele was referring to Limbaugh’s show!
