You´re absolutely right. This isn´t a John Wayne western, where the good guy gets beaten up, then takes a stand for what´s right and wins. It´s 1984. The good news is that we will all learn to love Big Brother.
Technical note: “Nineteen eighty-four” was in 1984. Back then, Big Brother used an IBM PC AT, and kept most of his records on paper. He had few cameras, databases, biometrics other than fingerprints, tapped phones the old fashioned way, and at least knew who our national enemies were.
Big Brother kept up with the times, and then some.
The good news is that we will all learn to love Big Brother.
