RE:Also, all the x-rays (like Ron Browns) somehow disappeared out of a safe. And the suicide note was completely unconvincing.”
The accident investigation was cancelled on the order of president Clinton. I think that is the only recoverable crash of a USAF plane in which no investigation was conducted. (occurred in Turkey, a friendly country at the time). What information did come out, including the suppression of testimony by Turkish tower personnel, weather at the time, etc., all strongly suggest that the “official” cause, weather and pilot error was a red herring.
Well, plus the local traffic controller “committed suicide” the next day. And a stewardess who survived the crash and did not seem to be badly wounded somehow died on the way to the hospital.
Some copies of the Ron Brown xrays survived, because one of the coronors was using them on the lecture circuit. They show a round hole measuring just under half an inch in diameter. In other words, presumably 44 or 45 caliber.
I can only hope that you are not referring to the Ron Brown crash as having occurred in Turkey? You might want to fact check that.
No it did not occur in Turkey, it occurred in the former Yugoslavia, parts of which were not at all friendly at the time. However the crash site and the airport that they were headed for, are both in Croatia, which was friendly, more or less, at the time.
the airport was at Dubrovnik, Croatia
