From the clips I saw it appears that the marines were quietly polite during his speech. Not quite the reception which I saw when W visited the troops.
I think the most telling thing I saw from W was after he got done speaking he went and started shaking as many peoples hands as he could manage. For obama it seemed like it was an afterthought.

Listening to the radio in the car it sounded as tho O got huge applause when he said he was ending the war....blah blah blah.
Wish I could have seen for myself, but my blood pressure does not allow me to even glimpse the louse.

Thanks for your observations. They're not surprising at all. W always seemed genuinely thrilled and grateful. It's sad, but I just don't like the president. Of course that's not required, but it's nice when you do, isn't it?
