Hi Everyone,

Tomorrow is the big day and I hope you are all as excited as I am. We had a permit issue which we have worked out with the Independence Hall Park Rangers.

We will now be protesting on Market Street between 5th and 6th street. This is right across the street from the Liberty Bell and about 100 yards from Independence Hall. I am sorry for the last minute change, but the law is the law. I have attached a map showing where we are compared to independence hall. Please pass this out to anyone you have previously contacted including the press! This is definately our final destination. There will be NO changes from here on out.

We will still be meeting up at 5th and Chestnut where we will be marching to our destination. This will eleviate the problem of finding the location and will also give us a polished, organized and sophisticated(well, maybe not me...) look. Please remember to bring your friends, your signs, your motivation and your voice!

As for Parking. I have found a garage that has a 10 dollar rate for all day until 6pm.

The link for the directions to it are here...just type in your address and it will show you how to get there :)

I was sent some really cool hand-outs from Freedom Works so that should be a blast. If you have any other questions, please ask me!!!! Otherwise, I thank you for coming and I look foward to seeing you there!!

Thanks,

Chris Clemency

Wow...Independence Hall in the background of those pics is powerful indeed. I can actually see my old office windows in the Curtis Center, unfortunately I now work in Bidenville, i.e. Delaware.

Looked like a good turnout. Any press coverage, how were the passersby...supportive?

WHYY (NPR/PBS) was there; nobody else.

Remember, this thing was put together (not by me) in four days.

The next one will have both more notice and more organization.

Traffic on 76 held me up.

Ridiculous.

Sorry about that.

The permit with the Park Service was from 1 until 2, but by 1 we were all fairly frozen.

The last people left around 1:15; I know because I was one of them.

email chris_clemency at yahoo dot com and tell him you want to be notified of the next one.

Valley Forge, I think, in about a month.

It’ll be more organized; they threw this together in four days.

every revolution, even peaceful ones, starts slow and builds momentum.

just as an aside, the IRS has offices in the federal building right at 6th and Market sts. Might be nice if the next protest coincides with April 15.

There’s a national push to have Tea Parties all over the country on that date.

Good. I live in Valley Forge Park.

It was easier for me to get to DC than it was to get to 5th and Chestnut.

Again, ridiculous.

It was kind of difficult.

Traffick stunk.

The entrance to the Chestnut Street parking mentioned in the email wasn’t on Chestnut.

The next one will be better organized.

I’m sure I did.

I would suggest that it be held outdiside of Phila, due to the difficulty of access.

Valley Forge would be great. right off the turnpike for out of state visitors who would rather not negotiate Phila or NY or DC.
