You were dishonest, got caught in your clumsy dishonesty, then attempted a scriptural “Al-taqiyya” defense that it was somehow OK to lie to those who disagree with you.
I would say that it is you who is “not very good at this” after getting caught in a dishonesty and embarrassing your own side.
