About 10 years ago I attended one of these town meetings with my US senator and the thing turned into a sob story session. To be fair, the people with the sob stories were not ne’er do well welfare queens; they were hard working people who through a combination of bad luck and health problems found themselves at the very limits of their finances. Yet they all looked to the federal government for some relief for their problems. Proof that the New Deal/Great Society plan of getting more Americans addicted to government is paying off handsomely for the liberals.

All the more reason to attend every town meeting you can and show your Senators and Congresscritters that the nation isn't populated entirely by welfare queens. You have to remember these folks live in the bubble that exists inside the beltway. Small business owners are the very backbone of this nation and we are under assault. Senators and Congresscritters need to be reminded regularly who employs the vast majority of workers in this nation and it is those workers who provide the welfare for the people who can't (or won't) work.

It's ours to lose, folks, and when it's gone we'll have no one to blame but ourselves.....
