Dang, that was pretty good!
>>>> Most of Obamas supporters drive less than five miles a day. <<<<<
Yes, I know for a fact that my own whacky congressman Jim Moron (D-VA) and his pompous staff have actual contempt for the needs of most Americans (in the Midwest for example) to drive their personal vehicles, because America’s a big country, and there are no Metrobus stops in Kansas or Nebraska.
>>>> My point is that the technology, in a shirt pocket sized box, already exists. <<<<<<
With all due respect, no, the technology most certainly does not exist.
I keep my TomTom in my briefcase, but the TomTom in my briefcase most certainly does not include the technology or infrastructure to track and produce tax bills for 250 million personal vehicles.
As I keep saying, it would take 10++ years and many billions of dollars to build the federal IT infrastructure to support this more-than-dubious tax proposal (which as noted above has already been squashed for the moment).
Ask anyone who does federal IT contracting.
I’ll go with that.
I should have mentioned that on the rare occasions I’ve called Moron’s office, I’ve spoken with alleged staffers who seem to be committed MySpace/Facebook devotees.
Dumb, unaware, parochial, and proud of it.
For instance, when I spoke with them on the phone last fall about offshore drilling, it seemed like a revelation to them that Kansas and Nebraska and South Dakota don’t have Metrorail and Metrobus or a network of bike paths, and that lots of people have to drive 30 or 50 or even 75 miles to get to work. They need their cars. This is America, not Switzerland.
Once they realized that fact, the response was something like “But it’s their own fault they don’t have public tranportation.”
Huh!?!?!?!?
THIS IS INSANE.
He doesn’t have to, there are 3 states already picking up on suggestion and studying the concept as a state tax...
And since when do we believe the Obama Admin on anything, as in Campaign he promised New Coal Technology, and drilling Offshore which he said he favored...backtracking after elected saying he was siding with enviromentalists..his comments were to get votes, and never any intention of drilling or developing coal technology.
Look when it comes to Gibbs and Obama “if their mouth is moving they’re lying”
yep!
wow, you have a husband and a fiance? ;^)
>>Ill gladly pay the tax if libs will line up at quarter mile increments<<
Now this y’all qualifies for POST OF THE DAY.
Hey x! You got that right. It is nobody’s business where I go,when I go, or how many times I go. It isn’t about a tax. It is about being watched, monitored. To heck with that!
LOL
I’m late posting this and I don’t know if it’s been said already but the People of Oklahoma have no desire to pay this tax. If we become sovereign, we wont have to.
Support sovereignty movements in your state.
“This guy wasnt a lunatic survivalist, either, but he saw what was coming.”
It is often difficult to tell the difference between a lunatic forecaster of doom and a sane individual with a clear picture of a bleak future. Often, it hangs upon the way the point of view is presented. Usually, though, people have to come to conclusions on their own. Most people won’t be led to clarity by spoken truths. They have to experience them, often brutally.
I think that is coming.
I’m sure that a lot of people will be getting tax evasion charges if the mileage tax is passed.
