The cute little “Roma” girls I encountered in Italy were vicious little thieves who will follow you all around town hassling you for money.

Most of the mainstream Italians I met loathe the Roma.

We call them Gypsies where I come from...anyway, you are correct, they are DESPISED by natives of their host countries.
