Said the other day he considered but wouldn’t. Very odd story since the other day everyone basically said yeah, we thought about it but won’t reject the cash.

“...betting that my Texas Gov will reject it.”

Bzzzzzzzzzz. Wrongo buckeroo. Our Governor Perry already said he is taking the 17 billion. But he will put it strictly into infrastructure projects. Which means more construction on I35 and superhighways between Odessa and El Paso.

betting that my Texas Gov will reject it.

I bet he accepts it. He’s a RINO that’s trying to be conservative now that he has some competition, but I don’t think he’s conservative enough to reject it.

Gov. Perry Responds to Passage of Economic Stimulus
February 19, 2009

http://governor.state.tx.us/news/press-release/11969/

On behalf of the people of Texas, please allow this letter to certify that we will accept the funds in H.R. 1 and use them to promote economic growth and create jobs in a fiscally responsible manner that is in the best interest of Texas taxpayers. I remain opposed to using these funds to expand existing government programs, burdening the state with ongoing expenditures long after the funding has dried up.

Sincerely,
Rick Perry
Governor
