As long as we have every intention of ultimately paying the mortgage and any contractural penalties and interest then we are being RESPONSIBLE by telling the mortgage companies that we will not sit idly by and pay the mortgages of those who have been irresponsible and purchased more house than they could afford.

Our only leverage in this matter is our mortgage payments. If 10 million responsible Americans put their mortgage payments under their mattress for a couple of months in protest of this boondoggle, then maybe somebody in Washington will get the message.
