Actually, at one time CA was quite conservative. When I was a boy and young man, CA was a great state to live in, open carry, easy to get a CCW in just about every county, taxes were not onerous and businesses were encouraged. That gradually changed until one day, bang, we were screwed.

Conservatives always make the mistake of thinking everyone is happy being free and that no one will try to change a good thing. They always forget the power mongers and control freaks that long to lord it over everyone. We always sit on out hands until it is too late for anything but violence.
