I wouldn’t be so confident that the Military/Civilian Police won't be used to quell any unpleasantness. It's not that they will be supportive of what is going on - They'll just be carrying out the ‘Law’ as it will have been twisted.

Just like what went down in the name of ‘Security’ in the wake of 9/11, the process will be gradual and brought forth under the rubric of ‘Keeping us safe’. Thus have all tyrannies been brought forth.

No enlisted men I have talked with in the last couple years have said they'd shoot American citizens under any circumstances.

While there will be some who will, the fact is there will be a fracturing of command and control. Unit cohesiveness will not survive a civil conflict where US military face off against armed civilians demanding what the Constitution spells out is our birthright and God given.
