I love Red Eye too!
He just answered every question, and Matt was left to divert to another direction/question. Matt was trying to corner Rove and make him say that Fannie and Freddie were W’s fault. Rove wouldn’t take it...he told Matt that W’s admin tried to alert the Congress. They wanted to pass regulatory legislation for F&F and it was blocked in 2005’s Congress...by one Senator in particular BARACK OBAMA!!! Rove told him how W’s admin repeatedly warned Congress about this, but to no avail. Rove let him have it. It was grand to see. All Matt could do was try to change the subject to Cheney being “livid” that W didn’t give a full pardon to Libby. Matt was powerless in this one!
That’s not fair or nice. His emotion was legit. Sorry it upset your masculinity.
Rush doesn’t cry.
News Flash: There are different personalities in this world.
News Flash: Doing a George Voinovich impersonation is not conducive to rallying conservatives.
So you have to be a stone to be a perfect Conservative???
Leaders lead. They don’t cry in public.
... Never seen that picture of PAB. Stunning.
I am very logic oriented, because I'm Capricorn--like Rush, and Spock was MY favorite character on Star Trek, BECAUSE he always dealt in logic. That said, if someone shows me genuine emotion I do not condemn them for it...even if it's not my style. Actually, those that CAN express themselves (and Beck isn't a sniveling blob on every show) I think are better off than those of us, who cannot.
You might want to see someone about your stoic traits.
Let's never forget that Lauer couldn't get a degree from Ohio University in the late '70's. If you could fog a mirror, you get a journalism degree from OU in the late '70's.
Lauer is just a pretty-boy empty suit; standard fair for on-camera network news jockeys.
Privately, off camera, I agree. BTW, Shedding a tear or two, vis a vis Bush in the aftermath of 9/11 is not the problem. It's when one is overwhelmed as Voinovich and Beck seem to be. Ed Muskie and Pat Schroeder didn't get a pass, nor should Beck.
No...I see what you mean, but I respectfully disagree. Beck doesn't do it all the time, and you could CLEARLY see that it REALLY affected him. We don't know what he's been through. If it's genuine and gut level and doesn't happen all the time...I can't fault the guy. It's when people do it for a reaction from others that you are definitely right.
