I took her meaning as she stated it, no more, no less. But since it doesn’t comport well with: “ Evolution is biology.”, well, “it’s interesting”.

Don’t blame me for your “abysmal understanding” of evolution.

I'll grant you that! It is definitely interesting, as all of science is. I took her statement (and lets be honest, Eugenie is certainly capable of saying stupid things) to mean that all of science fits together in a sort of tapestry. Evolution makes no sense if hundreds of years of geology was uprooted by this story and suddenly a young earth model was accepted science. Astronomy and therefore physics as we understand them make no sense if the new geologic model upturned our billions years old earth model and now evolution and therefore the whole of biology (and in turn, chemistry and genetics) would make no sense.

Which is essentially what YECs are strangely attempting to do.
