Why watch a bunch of naifs, liberal whine and cheese patrons congratulate themselves on their anti-American films? I could care less about them and their hatred. I pray ABC tanks in the ratings and no one watches this show of idolatry .
Are they still handing out those expensive SWAG bags to the stars who announce? When are they going to realize we want our actors to be mysterious and standing up and giving political statements is a huge turnoff to half the country.
I’m watching just to see Hugh Jackman. Everyone else can piss off.
I hope Slum Dog beats out all the big-name movies for the oscar...
Yaaaaaeeeeeeccccchhhhh! Did you have to post THAT here? ***shudder***
I thought the oscars was this weekend
I was busy watching PBS remake of Oliver Twist on masterpiece theater classic
Seriously? I was only 4 then. But I used to work with some Cambodian guys...the stories they told of the Khmer Rouge were something hideous.
Is there a murdering Communist thugocracy that liberals DON'T like?
"Doubt" was probably my favorite of the movies that got major nominations, but I don't think it's nominated for best picture. "Slumdog" was really good, and of the ones nominated, it's definitely the most deserving to win, even though I didn't like it as much as a lot of people apparently did. I liked "The Wrestler" better, but again, it wasn't even nominated. "Frost/Nixon" had excellent performances and was more sympathetic to Nixon than I expected, but could've been a made-for-TV movie. "Benjamin Button" has excellent cinematography, amazing special effects, and otherwise no reason to exist. It's an overlong script with boring, cliched, one-dimensional characters who live through an extraordinary situation and yet have absolutely nothing interesting to say about it. It's like "Forrest Gump" with all the humor, insight and originality removed and replaced with a completely unwarranted sense of self-importance. "Milk" is the only one I haven't seen, but I assume it will win everything because it's about a real-life homosexual leftwing political activist who was murdered for being gay. If the voters can stop having orgasms long enough to mark their ballots, it's a sure winner.
If the nominators had any taste or sense, "Slumdog" and "The Wrestler" would be the only movies mentioned above that I've seen that were nominated for Best Picture. Maybe "Doubt," but that's doubtful.
There'll be plenty of speeches offering homage to our new President...a new day has dawned, etc.
Collectively, they're not nearly as wise as my 6 YO son, who said on Friday, "how come Barack Obama had to be elected the first black president, when there are so many other black men who would be better presidents?"

Anchors Away
Hollywood can sell sex to 14 year old boys and violence to the world's lowlifes... and we're suppose to be impressed?
I'm looking forward to computer generated "actors"...
