When we had a FedGov with b@lls, Pancho Villa invaded the US and killed US citizens.

Washington sent an Army to the border to take care of business.

Now, the invading army of Mexicans uses the fort (Huachucha)as a path in, their hands are tied. I can only guess it will get worse, rather than better. Maybe Masamune Shirow is more a futurist (and accurate) than first imagined.

I believe that whoever provided the post-apocalyptic details for GiTS as well as the 2 seasons of the TV show has demonstrated an uncanny ability to depict those situations in a convincing manner.
I don’t think it was entirely Masamune Shirow despite the disturbingly accurate geopolitical situation depicted in both seasons of GiTS:Standalone Complex.
There are some traditional post-apocalyptic Japanese memes in that movie and series that are coming to fruition.
