I think I understand his point. Imagine McCain as President but with dem-controlled House and Senate. With McCain wanting to be bipartisan more than a republican, I would predict that the stimulus bill would not be as bad as this one but close.

He logged a solid record as one of the Senate's biggest spending hawks so I would seriously doubt it! It would have been stimulus yes (in the historic place where spending has always elevated the economy: DEFENSE! But, Pork, no!

If McCain had a GOP congress I would agree that there would be no pork or earmarks. BUT when he would have to deal with both the house and senate controlled by libtards, he really would not have a lot of clout as to what was finally in the bill.

Remember, McCain voted for the the $700 billion bailout (TARP) in October....he wanted to be bi-partisan and that, IMO was the final nail in the coffin of his campaign.
