It is time to start a new party led by “Bull Market” and the anti-Republicans on FR. I am sure you guys will have over 60 million voters and billions of dollars at your disposal by 2010. (extreme sarcasm).

Senate Vote On Stimulus Expected
Posted by Tucker Reals| 18
The Senate is expected to vote on the economic stimulus package Friday evening, Sen. Harry Reid announced Thursday. The vote was expected to begin at about 7:00 p.m. Eastern.
A 60-vote threshold is required to pass the legislation long-sought by President Obama.
Democrats pushing for the plan’s passage now have the 60 votes they need, even without Sen. Ted Kennedy, who was not expected to attend the session. Fifty-seven Democrats are onboard, and three Republicans; Susan Collins, R-ME, Olympia Snowe, R-ME, and Arlen Specter, R-PA.
To: STARWISE
If Kennedy is not voting for cloture, all the Repubs need to delay this is 1 Senator to turn his yes to a no vote.
To: SueRae
All including the democrats need to vote no to give everyone a chance to read it as originally promised.Otherwise, why shouldn't their vote be considered gross negligence for voting on it without reading it and allowing others to make changes and especially, for not disclosing sponsorship for each provision. Unbelieveable!

Thanks for the article, cookiedough. How sweet that these two women were "wooed" by Biden and the White House. This part of the article was funny,
South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham noted that Collins' negotiating skills helped turn an $819 billion House bill into an $838 billion version in the Senate. "I like them both," he told the New York Times, "but I wouldn't want them to buy me a car."
With Kennedy out of the voting, these three Repubs will be forever known as the deciding votes if this spending bill passes. I hope they think about that for the next few hours.

So you are for a “yes” vote on the bill?
You are the first one I have seen on FR that supports the backstabbing republican senators voting for this bill.

I suppose everyone needed an "atta girl/boy" for a good job but honestly my first thought was "for what? Doing their job?"
Exactly. What, do they want a freakin' cookie for doing what they were elected to do for the first time in about ten years?

How did you conclude that I am for the bill? I have been against the bill and still is in every post I have written for the last four weeks. I am making fun of the poster who does not want to give credit for the House Republicans who voted against the bill. You are smearing me and accusing me of something that I am totally against. I will address you appropriately in the next post.

I know but someone said they must have pulled his pork projects and I was just showing them that he still had plenty of pork projects in his district.

McCain is on the floor talking. He just said that Senators are ready to vote affirmative and he is thanking (kissing butt) to the RATS and President Zero. We are doomed.

Thank God and thank you for this thread.

Where are all those blue dog Democrats we keep hearing about?
Has anyone been calling them? They should be the targets come the mid terms. It is good that the House Republicans have held the line. If only they’d did so well last year the second go around with the first bill.

What the conservatives in the Senate should do is ask for a one guaranteed unity vote from the three potential turncoats. Get them to commit to defeating the bill once and then worry about the next step. I just heard that Kennedy will not be able to vote for it because of his treatment. You know if just a couple Democrat Senators would find themselves caught in traffic. ;-) ;-) This could be stopped.

Nice thought - but the mailroom will smell it and call in the Hazmat team. The FBI will be charged with finding out who sent the stinky pork and we’ll end up in jail.
