Hey, it's not like he hasn't threatened to turncoat in the past. IIRC, the only reason he didn't the last time was because Jeffords leapfrogged his sorry ass, stole his thunder, and mooted any Grand Welcome he'd obtain from the Democrat wing of The Political Party.
Maybe that's why he's calling home to see if there's anyone left in the Republican party who still loves him. Maybe he's making up his mind, and I say good riddance. OTOH his cancer is back and I doubt he'll be in any shape in '10 to run in either party. Speaking of which:
