U.S. Rep. Anh “Joseph” Cao, R-New Orleans, said Wednesday he is likely to vote for the economic stimulus bill when it comes to a vote, probably today or Friday, even if he is the only Republican member of the House to do so.

“I’m voting along what my conscience dictates and the needs of the 2nd Congressional District dictate, even if I were to be the only member of the GOP to vote for the stimulus package, “ he said.

Cao took William Jefferson's seat. Read his background. He was a refugee from Vietnam. His father spent 7 years in a reeducation camp after the fall of South Vietnam. He knows what a gift he's been given becoming an American citizen. He should be ashamed of himself.

it is possible that his constituents have been flooding his office with mail and calls telling him that they need this bill to pass and if he does not vote for it they will get rid of his butt. just like we do our congress critters both repub and dem. he represents these people and they pay his salary and he should do what these voters want him to do. we may not agree with that choice but he was elected to represent them and should do as they wish.
