The military will stay out of it so long as it stays political. And I don't think The One is dumb enough to bring them into it. Too much risk on his part. First they voted overwhelmingly against him in the last election. So if he pushes too hard they might say no, which puts him in a very bad place.

In addition any one of a few units going rebel could bring down Obama's administration without firing a shot. What if 1st armored division down at Fort Knox went freelance. Not shooting mind you just used an M1 to open the door and the tank transporters to empty the piggy bank. What if the crew of an Ohio class decides to go on strike because their pay isn't arriving regularly. This isn't like the bounty where they can be allowed to just vanish. And how do you threaten someone with the power to devastate a continent? The answers are too nasty to contemplate, and do Obama will never put the military in a position where they would need to think about it.
