Smooth operator .. agenda in play .. 24/7.

Guess Specter really had his head turned. Hopefully, PA voters will turn this traitor (and Snowe and Collins) out!

I’d be happy to give him some ugly, starting with “What is your Immigration Status?”

"He wants to make sure he stays grounded and wants to hear the good, the bad and the ugly.”

And with Claire McCaskill there, he gets two out of 3.

Specter sees fiscal woes bigger than political risk

###

*snip*

“I’m asked if this will solve the problem and candidly, nobody knows for sure,” Mr. Specter told workers at Schott. “But if we don’t do something, it will get worse ... If we fail to act, I think it would be a devastating signal for the world.”

His support is riling conservative Republicans, who think the spending package is geared too heavily toward spending and too little toward tax cuts. Pennsylvania conservatives are hoping to woo a strong conservative challenger to Mr. Specter in the Republican Senate primary next year as he seeks a sixth term.

“Well, of course I am,” Mr. Specter said when asked if he’s worried about the conservative backlash. “But (President) John Kennedy had it right. He said, ‘Sometimes the party asks too much.’ And this is something I think is necessary for the country. It goes beyond politics. It goes beyond the Democratic or Republican position. It’s the right thing for America.”

Mr. Specter said he would have supported the package even if Democrats had not added $6.5 billion for the National Institutes of Health to the final version of the bill.

Mr. Specter had sought the money for years, and had mentioned he wanted it in the bill when he met with President Barack Obama last week.

“That’s only one small part ... That’s not determinative in my mind,” he said.

The president, the friend added, “likes to be in the know.”

Oh I don’t doubt that for a moment. Get a name change, drive him nuts.

Obama is a really good CON-man. Plain and simple.

He reminds me of the smooth, lead character in The Music Man-pretends he’s going to teach everyone to play a band instrument, and start a marching band complete with uniforms.
And of course, as with all cons, there’s money involved.

There’s Trouble,Right Here In River City- comes to mind...

At halftime, the president — who guests said never downed a beer and ate very little — walked around with a plate of oatmeal cookies, schmoozing with Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.), Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) and others.

I don't think he'd quite make it at one of our gatherings.

It’s not a return to Camelot, it’s a return to clinton, who kept a constant stream of cocktail parties and entertainments going, sometimes to raise funds, and sometimes to ingratiate himself with people, especially the press.

There were parties for the press almost every day while clinton was in office, with stars and starlets circulating among the guests. Obama has been kind of clueless about keeping the press happy, but he’ll soon figure that out, too.

Of course, constant parties may not go over too big in a country mired in a great depression, but no doubt he’ll find ways to deal with that. FDR did it very well, living high off the hog while feigning sympathy for the downtrodden and oppressed.

“..... because many people don’t realize that parties are work in Washington,” he said. “There’s an agenda behind every event.”

So while we’re using a BIC to re-warm what’s left of last night’s pork and beans, their weekly happy hours will be “work” and the expense will be charged back to us peons through his new “happy tax”. His promise of “hope” and “change” has nothing to do with you and me. It’s all about HIM and his quality of life.
