Yes, that sounds like a wise decision, for anyone in that position. We don’t want our military people “thrown to the dogs” for something that they may have thought would help (but yet, find out that they just ruined their own lives, as a result). That wouldn’t be a good idea for them, personally.

I would hate to think of something bad happening to our military people, in retirement, after having served us so well during their time of duty.

I’m glad you’re pointing this out to people... (sometimes others don’t care what damage some things can do to a person, in their own personal life)...
