What would happen (to the nation) if the top 50% who voted against this crap just stopped paying the taxes that Harry Reid says are “voluntary?”
What would happen next? How long would it take for the other 50% to come to the table in a reasonable manner?
The top 50% would be better off instantly. The bottom 50% would instantly learn what life is like without “the greedy” paying their way...
What else would happen?
The top 5% pay more than the other 95%. The top 50% probably pay 95%. So, if the top 50% stopped, the income to the fed would stop.
BUT, the payroll fed income and fica are automatic. So, who gets the boss to stop withholding?
NYC is having that light bulb go off in their heads. Wow! Much lower Wall street bonuses and a $500K salary cap means a whole lot less tax money.
