Arlen Specter is DONE, wrote a blogger named steelfish on the FreeRepublic Web site. He won his last primary by less than 1 percent against a real conservative of Pat Toomey. And only because the President Bush came to PA and campaigned for him. He is DONE.
Specter is up for re-election in 2010. Washington Republican strategists tell Newsmax this weekend that Specter's defection has sealed the deal: he will face a primary for the GOP nomination.

All three have a long history of this...
To: caver
You nailed it!
More voted are being bought with gifts from the public trough every election. More are being bought with this trillion dollar package aimed at only stimulating Marxist growth.
To: chainsaw
It’s quite simple. On the issues, all three are better aligned with leftists than with their party. They share common interests on abortion, gay rights, amnesty for illegal, reduced national security... with DEMOCRATS.
They are Democrats...
To: EternalVigilance
You continue to confuse “voters” with “candidates.”
Lieberman is an Independent today. He was booted from the DNC...
To: EternalVigilance
Agreed...
But that’s because voters can be bought with gifts from the trough. The RNC thinks they can only compete with the DNC by buying votes just like them...
If voters were not for sale, gifts from the treasury wouldn’t buy them.

And Marion and Monroe county too!

Interesting...
Of course, the courts are not on our side either.
To: PlainOleAmerican
No, he left of his own accord, after losing a Dem primary.

I'm trying ...
believe me, I am! But these times are a real call to action.
God knows the ending before time was written.
Read Ezekiel 33: 24-33
"Son of man,
they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land:
but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.
Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Ye eat with the blood,
and lift up your eyes toward your idols,
and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?
Ye stand upon your sword,
ye work abomination,
and ye defile every one his neighbour's wife: and shall ye possess the land?
Say thou thus unto them,
Thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live,
surely they that are in the wastes and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured,
and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence. For I will lay the land most desolate,
and the pomp of her strength shall cease;
and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate,
that none shall pass through. Then shall they know that I am the LORD,
when I have laid the land most desolate
because of all their abominations which they have committed.
Also, thou son of man,
the children of thy people still are talking against thee
by the walls and in the doors of the houses,
and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you,
and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD.
And they come unto thee as the people cometh,
and they sit before thee as my people,
and they hear thy words, but they will not do them:
for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
And, lo, thou art unto them
as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice,
and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words,
but they do them not. And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,)
then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them."

You should have seen Megyn Kelly this morning. She tore him a new one over the medical records and government approval of medically necessary treatment provision in the Spendulus bill.
To: EternalVigilance
After the DNC booted him and threw its support behind Lamont to unseat him...
His own choosing my rear!
Please, get real with me EV... Lieberman would be a Democrat today if it were his choice. The DNC didn’t give him that choice. He had to go indie to retain his seat.
To: PlainOleAmerican
If Lieberman, who is a leftist, wanted to register Republican, pray tell what you could do about it.

Nothing...
But watch what happens when he tries to run for election under the RNC banner...
He had to run as an indie against the DNC candidate to retain his seat.
He would have to run against a republican and win to get an RNC seat. He wasn’t even left enough for the DNC. Only an RNC left of the DNC would accept him as an RNC candidate. But he can register all he wants...
I love your hard-headed nature. As you can see, we have this in common...

Specter probably didnt even read the bill, as the health care provisions would mean that neither he nor Ted Kennedy would have received treatment for their cancers. At their ages, treatment would not be cost effective. Mass pretty much already has socialized health care. When Teddy got sick he fled Mass for Duke Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. What's the matter Ted? Can't eat your own cooking? Mass General not good enough for you? Regardless of the legislation just passed, there will always be special rules for people like Ted.
Didn't Specter
admit he hadn't read the bill on Fox News (Ms. Kelly?) this morning?
If you want to fix that it is easy but would never pass: All bills submitted in either house of Congress
must be written by the person submitting them (use of wordprocessors is permitted provided C&P is disabled). All bills submitted in either house of Congress must be read aloud in full on the floor of the respective chamber by the person submitting them. The person submitting a bill must answer any questions regarding the bill from fellow Senators or Representatives in person on the floor of the respective chamber. No staff may assist in any phase of the process.
In fact, as a cost-cutting measure, your staff is being cut. To one person.
As to Fat-Boy (as Howie Carr calls Teddy the K.), no problem. Those folks have their own private health care, retirement, and who knows what else -- all paid with tax dollars. Why should
they have to put up with the c**p they foist off on us?
Peet (who thinks MSM should drop "lawmaker" and use "representative" exclusively)

I do. Collins is (barely) the lesser of two evils; I look forward to the next election cycle.

At an absolute minimum, they should be removed from any and all committee positions and caucuses, politically tared and feathered! I agree.
If not the GOP is offically dead.
