Honestly, I can’t say this is a big deal. The guy is already paying taxes on one house (presumably), he’s got to pay more taxes on another? I suppose it would be far less egregious if he wasn’t pushing for higher taxes on all of us to support their socialism, but I imagine if I were in his place I might be tempted to do the same.

Well, I'm certainly no expert here, just another small business taxpayer. My guess is that the IRS would rule that the value of the housing is income to Emanuel.

I would also imagine that both Emanuel and DeLauro know this.

I agree. This is no different than Daschle getting a car and driver to use. Rahm is getting a house to use.
