As someone who is on active duty and is Tricare Prime Remote...I completely understand. The choice of doctors is slim...and I think they take it out of patriotism...because it certainly isn't due to the money they make. They do payout less than Medicare.
How long have you had your doctor? Since we moved to Texas within the past year maybe most doctors are not in the system. According to the doctors they have to go through so much red tape to get in the system they aren’t interested in joining. Older doctors in the system are probably leaving or no longer taking new patients. It is just not that easy.
I have been seeing the same doctor for 7 years now. It was my experience that doctors who accepted Medicare were more likely to accept Tricare, but I haven’t had any problems for years. Try to get some help from those overpaid egomaniacs in DC.
You are right. It is not easy.
I live in Northern California. It is almost impossible to find doctors who accept Tri-Care.
I have the Tri-Care office try to find Dr.s for me. They find one, I call for an appt., the front desk asst. tells me they are no longer accepting Tri-Care. Happens all the time.
They say it is because Tri-Care doesn’t pay very much, and they take forever to pay out what they do pay.
I drive a few hours each way to go to a Military Base hospital. For routine appts. Use the local emergency room for well, emergencies. Tri-Care pays them after the fact.
The system stinks. Of course when something is broken, the government doesn’t fix it, they just charge more for it.
I do and did take offense. You threw out a blanket statement filled with arrogance. “told you so”.
And then you don't want me to take offense.
And now you reply with “now does it?”
Childish remarks from someone who doesn't care who they are offending because they are not affected.
Couldn't you just have apologized for your first snotty remark?
Yeah, Letâs Cap Salaries. Start With Harvard!

Next time don’t just skip to page 198, read page 5 first! This is just an OPTION, it’s not even proposed. It’s not in a bill, it has yet to be reviewed by the current President, Congress, or the Senate. Oh, and it hasn’t been voted on!
This is just like the elective options that were suggested in October 2008 for 401K plans as they were failing. Both of which were put forward under the Bush Admin, and no there not eliminating 401Ks either. Get your facts straight and stop bashing just one democrat because other ones thought up as many OPTIONS as they could to try and help fix our problems. Look it up yourself at http://WWW.cbo.gov/doc.cfm?index=9925
