It didn’t work for Lynn Swann who was a far better player. IMHO!
Let's not get crazy here. Swann's career was almost to short for his receiving stats to add up to a spot in the Hall of Fame. There was a lot of debate about it. He made a lot of highlight reels, but his numbers were borderline -- according to some sportswriters.
Franco, OTOH, retired as one of the leaders in career rushing yards. He had his detractors, like the great Jim Brown, who felt that Franco was 'soft' and ran out of bounds too much.
