Word o’ warning boys and girls; it may not matter much; I work in the “awl” bidness and with cap’n trade talk, it’s possible every well head in the U.S. would have to be retrofitted with emissions monitoring equipment. The result will be that unless a well is making +100 BBLs a day oil or 1MMCF a day gas, it’ll be plugged and abandonned. Most of the onshore production in the U.S. is “stripper” production.
In a nutshell, it’s their answer to energy independence, i.e., lower U.S. oil & gas production.
