Conflating Yankee's with liberal is a mistake. You know, I used to think like you. I have a brother in NH. He is conservative. I told him it is clear, you need to leave there. He won't. Even though he is not a socialist Yankee, his tax dollars lend DEFACTO support to local socialist policies/regime. To me, there is no political solution, that time has passed. He is in enemy territory. In support of your position, there are a few RINO politicians left in Yankee land. If you don't leave that socialist hell hole, and you are a conservative, what am I to take from that? Are you really waiting for a new Reagen revolution up there? Come on get real. Come south, concentrate political power, while we still can.

There’s a couple of us that just aren’t in the position to move yet.

I've lived in NH my entire adult life, and while things aren't looking great, it's far from a socialist nightmare like massholechussetts.
The south, not that long ago, was dominated by democrats so obviously there are political solutions. I'm not morally opposed to moving to the south although generally their guns laws are more restrictive then NH and their taxes are typically higher.
