FWIW, I think that up until this morning, the Dems were determiend to push Daschle through. Obama’s statement was pretty supportive. But after the lady dropped out because of the Nanny tax problems, they realized they couldn’t let two middle aged white guys get away with it, but sacrifice the female...
The question now is why did Daschle and the woman have to fall on their swords and Geitner gets a pass?
