See Fallen Angels by Larry Niven, Jerry Pournelle, and Mike Flynn. This is a spoof of Greens and global warming hysterics written way back in 1991. The setting is a near-future in which CO2-hating Greenies are running things and have inadvertently caused a new ice age, which they blame on renegade astronauts who refuse to come down from a self-sufficient space colony.

Global warming, invented the Internet, was in inspiration for a love story, and on and on. but the mess he started with the supreme court and the problems that resulted from that are almost un forgivable
