FWIW, ESPN is running a graphic saying that the booth replay official did indeed review that last play with Warner and confirmed that it was, in fact, a fumble. And I am the only one who clearly heard Michaels say, just before the final snap, that the play was reviewed upstairs and confirmed?

I heard Michaels say it. But the booth must have taken all of 10 seconds to look at it - not enough time. It seems clearly to be a forward pass. Did the booth simply decide the game was over?

The Cardinals got the short end of the stick. Especially on that roughing the passer call early on.

Guess folks will argue the fumble at the end and that’s the nature of things.
But even though I was rooting for Kurt Warner and the Cards, it’s a tough case to make that the ball was not a fumble.

He wanted to move his arm forward with the ball but he was so tangled up that he physically couldn’t do it. And the ball was not moving ahead aligned with his arm motion, it just sputtered out to the ground.

With what two seconds left, if that, it’s also difficult to say that with one play a miracle play would occur next.

Having said that, Kurt Warner was magnificent and a class act after the game.

Cardinal fans have reason to be really proud. It’s rare in defeat one can say that, but they can.
