All night the commercials are as if 12 year olds have written them.

After the election, the advertizers realized just how stupid the American public really was. So they "de-tuned" the commercials to the apparent intelligence level of the typical liberal consumer - which is around 6th grade level.

I have to go back and watch that ad with Al Gore, ...errr..., I mean Alec Baldwin. It seemed like pure Holywood devil speak to me.

When I first started out in the marketing business (in 1962), I wondered why the commercials were aimed so low.

I was directed to the U.S. census. Where I learned that, in 1960, only about half of the adults in the country had graduated from high school. The average education level was, in fact, somewhere between 8th & 9th grade.

Nowadays, I'd wager a far higher percentage of adults have graduated from high school -- and that about half have at least some college. The average education level would be what -- around 12 yrs?

Yet, we are a less intelligent country than we were 46 years ago...
