I'm not sure. If it was before the interception, I think the Cards would have maintained possession if the call was accepted. This is a situation where you realize that officials have some tricky rules to interpret.

If there's a defensive penalty, the offense gets to run another play. However, the Cards started the play on offense, so I don't know if it applies during a return of an int. I know that on kickoffs and punts, there's a clear line of demarcation when a team switches from being the defense to the offense, but am not sure on turnovers.
