I think too many of you are starting to get on the case of the judge about this statement:

“There should be a law that law abiding citizens with no felony convictions should own a gun,”

I agree.

I think what he is means is that he sarcastically believes there should be a law that makes it illegal for a law abiding citizen to NOT have a gun.

I disagree that he is being sarcastic. There are places in the US that make it mandatory to own a firearm. He seems to say that he thinks it should similarly be a requirement.

Also, Virgin, Utah(^) requires firearm ownership.

I am nearly positive that there are a handful of other places that require firearms ownership, but those are the two I know by name right off the bat.

Greenleaf, Idaho is another I remember reading about: A Rifle in Every Pot(^) , New York Times (an Opinion piece in favor of the practice. In the NYT! Someone must've been asleep at the Editor's desk that day.
