Sorry, but this is just asking for trouble. I’m not saying Steele should be selected because of his race, but if Dawson is picked over Steele the media and the Dems will have a field day, because Dawson used to belong to the Forest Lake Club.

No, Dawson was the one who was recently a member of a whites-only country club. If he wins (and beats a black man into the bargain) I can just imagine the headlines now.

No, that was Chip Saltsman. And Chip’s pr mistake was innocent (I know the song wasn’t racist, but if someone sent it out as a solo CD, it would invite bad pr). He sent out the latest Paul Shanklin CD period.
Now, about Dawson. He’s a great guy but choosing him would be a horrible, horrible decision. He was part of a Whites only club and the media would pound the GOP, eroding most chance of getting more minority votes, what we need to eventually win.
Steele is by far the most effective voice. I think Dawson’s numbers will cool at this level with most of the rest going to Steele.
Not what I’m saying. If another white person beat Steele, it wouldn’t be a problem. It’s Dawson’s background that creates issues.
