In addition to the obvious increased potential for terror that the imminent collapse of Mexico would present, Lou Dobbs and Glenn Beck have presented another cataclysmic consequence of such an event. The evacuation and mass migration of illegal immigrants into America would become a tectonic tidal wave. The results of the Mexican War (1846-1848) would be reversed. President Polk signed the treaty of Guadalupe-Hildago which gave the Southwest and California to the United States. Now imagine a new scenario in which Obama, Pelosi, Reid, et al. surrender Mexifornia, border states, and others with a heavy Latino population to joint citizenship in the United States and Mexico and allow Mexicans to serve in Congress (as good Democrats). Bilingualism becomes law and Mexico is paid reparations for American imperialism. And the minority of Euro-Americans, blacks and non-Hispanics are denied the benefit of affirmative action because such would obviously be racial discrimination against the majority Latino population.

Since they see nothing wrong with Mexicans crossing into the US, I see nothing wrong with the Big Red One crossing into Mexico.

I’ve often thought that this was the reason Dubya walked the line he did on the issue of illegal immigration. The money sent back to Mexico by workers here in the States accounted for the largest chunk of the Mexican economy. If we had kicked all illegals out of the country and fenced the border, the Mexican economy would collapse with the result being pretty close to the article above.

eh, what the heck, let's give Mexico a bailout... We are in the age of Obama where all things are possible.
Right about now I will take comfort in Zombo.com won't you all join me? I plan on staying at Zombo.com, where the unattainable is unknown for the next 4-8 years. Someone come get me after Obama's time is up. Thank you.

I hope all you drug warriors think that the collapse of Mexico is a collateral damage worth paying for, in your righteous attempt to prohibit drugs.

Mexico can shut down all these criminal drug cartels the day they close their border with the USA.
That open border was good for Mexico's welfare for decades but now it has come back to bite them.

And we’d notice the difference how?

it would be a disaster for the border u.s. states because there would be a mass invasion of mexicans seeking safety.
indeed, many middle class mexicans maintain american homes for fear of chaos in mexico.
indeed, that’s how most mexican-americans arrived in the first place—
during the mexican revolution they crossed into the u.s. for safety.

Mexico is a virus and we should have taken care of Mexico a long time ago.
