T SCOTUS said no cameras no press. He brought his own photographer, posed the pictures and released them to the press. He's all smiles leaning on the back of the CJ's chair with the appearance that all is well....
THINK. He just did the opposite of what the SCOTUS had laid down as rules and then spit in their collective faces....Looks at their body language: crossed arms, no smiles or strained smiles.....He may have just opened himself to a sum of their WA!
I thought the same thing about the photograph, especially Obama leaning on the back of the CJ’s chair.
That’s Obama’s favorite trick, touching someone on the shoulder, as he did to President Bush at the White House, and leaning on the CJ’s chair. Totally inappropriate and a power play on O’s part.
Please, hoosiermama, tell me what “WA” means.
A few stories talked about how Obama literally strong arms people. The grabbing Roberts chair was like a dog urinating on another dogs area. You never grab someone’s chair and lean on it. That was a deliberate thug move.
Has anyone ever seen photographs like that with SCOTUS. He was invading their turf with his photog.
Even Souter and Ginzburg looked very uncomfortable by the whole charade. And once again - where was former U.S. Attorney Samuel Alito?
Roberts's face is a mask of strain.
Stevens looks slightly embarrassed and is looking in the same direction as Roberts.
Souter and Ginsburg look extremely embarrassed and have their arms crossed over their chests--protectively, it appears.
Thomas is looking at something in the corner, off camera. He also looks tense, even angry.
In sum, the Supremes seen here are clearly NOT having a good time.
Could someone please post the photo where Roberts is having his "do over" oath with BO?
(And also please, could you show me the html code used to link directly to the picture?)
Thanks.
