Circuit City Beancounters killed Circuit City.
Six months to a year ago, CC Corporate decided they had to cut costs, including labor.
So, instead of scrutinizing their Business Model for items to improve, they FIRED all the Older, Longtime, HIGHER PAID Employees, and hired kids at minimum wage.
Of course customer service dropped like a hot rock. So as Far as I am concerned, Circuit City Slit their own throat. I do not feel for the Company.
That’s a real shame.
About four years ago, I went shopping for a new PC and a digital camera at Circuit City. The excellent customer service I got from an “older” (35+) salesperson convinced me to buy both items from him on the spot (with a little negotiation).
That is EXACTLY how Mr.FF explained Circuit City to me, wilhelm.
My former employer’s IT department just did the same. I have to laugh at it in one respect... there are now 5 bosses and 15 people for them to boss. My team has one person remaining, not counting her boss (who only supervises this one employee.)
Re Circuit City. What bothers me is Rush seem to praise best buy. Best buy sells seconds and refurbished items...which is why you can’t return certain things after 30 days or 3 months, etc. I’d never buy a thing from that store.
