In order to appear conservative, several democrats will oppose this stimulus. The questions remain, is there enough dems voting against the bill and will Pelosi/Obama need idiotic Repubs to offset the dems in conservative districts?

Bush needed to twist the arms of repubs the second time because even though the dems held Congress re-election time was near and those dems in conservative districts needed cover. In short the dems are playing the repubs like a beautifully hand crafted Stradivarius.

That’s true and I noted that but we’ll get an indication of the stomach these Republicans have. If a bunch of House republicans cave, we have no hope for a meaningful Senate showdown.
