I don’t completely agree with Rush’s assertion that the Merrill decorations had nothing to do with the TARP. Merrill spent the money, and could not pay its debts. Then BOA buys Merrill and inherits its debts. Then BOA gets bailout money. It’s still throwing good money after bad.
